Todd Green is a lifelong fan of music who has recently added singer-songwriter to his repertoire. Todd serves as the executive director of a charitable children’s choir, Tomorrow’s Voices Foundation, that he founded in 2017. The charity operates in six cities and three provinces in Canada and has provided over 200 kids an opportunity to be heard.
Being surrounded by amazing young singers and working closely with musicians inspired him to revisit years of handwritten song lyrics that needed to be shared and heard. Starting off by first learning the drums while completing his PhD in Marketing at Simon Fraser University, Todd delved into songwriting courses at the Toronto Songwriting School and felt the time was finally right to make and share his music.
Starting with his first release, "Five Years Later", Todd focuses on bringing his life experience to his songs. Todd owns over 900 albums and has attended over 250 concerts across a wide range of artists that have influenced his own songwriting. Currently, the artists that influence his own songwriting include Iron and Wine, Caamp, Dan Mangan, and Band of Horses. And yes, the Beatles above all others. His second single, "Long Haul," realeased in May 2024. Todd plans to release a 5-6 song EP before the end of the calendar year and will be included his amazing young kids choir members on at least one of those songs.
Todd's first album, "For You," released in October 2024. The album is a collection of 11 of his ambient music tracks.
Todd lives in Niagara-on-the-lake with his wife and young son, Liam – his biggest fan to date of his music who lists his dad as his favourite artist right now. Todd expects that to change.
Early concert highlights in his teens include Paul McCartney, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, and the Tragically Hip.
When he is not listening, writing, and recording music, Todd is a marketing professor at Brock University. His connection to music and his day job includes a number of research projects related to music consumption and working with artists, labels, and journalists to better understand the experience of members of the music industry in Canada.
